Individual sessions are available at any stage of pregnancy, postnatal or during breastfeeding.
Lactation Consultation – this is for you if you’re having difficulty breastfeeding and want expert guidance from a Lactation Consultant. I will visit you at home and conduct an initial consultation. You can let me know what has been going on with your feeding and we can debrief about the birth if you feel that would be helpful. I will support you to solve your problems constructively. If you’ve had conflicting advice we can discuss what has been helpful and what is not, so you can more easily solve future issues. I can help assess for tongue tie and make a referral if necessary, or help you get the positioning and attachment right. If you have any ongoing concerns such as engorgement, over or under supply of milk, I can work with you to resolve these issues. Whatever you’re problem, you can rest assure I have more than likely come across it many times before. I will be available over the phone after your appointment and will email a full plan which I endeavour to follow up with you. If you would like to discuss how I can help before booking, please feel free to call for a chat.
Midwifery visit – sometimes NHS Midwives are pushed for time and limited visits can leave you feeling neglected when there’s so much you would like to ask and discuss. If you would like a one off visit during pregnancy or after you have had your baby, I can visit you at home and help with whatever it is you require. It may be that you want to discuss a pregnancy induced medical condition or perhaps you would like a one-to-one session to discuss birth options. You might need extra support after you’ve had your baby.
De-brief – You may be feeling anxious, confused or upset after a traumatic delivery. I can help you source your notes from the hospital and we can go through what happened. Being able to process previous incidences and help make sense of what happened can be very therapeutic, helping you move on and enjoy being a parent or help plan for future pregnancies and births. I can help you communicate your concerns with your hospital if need be. If you’re pregnant I can help you make choices about your care this time round and help write a birth plan.
There is no problem too big or small that I won’t do my best to help you with, just give me a call and we can discuss how I can be of assistance.
Full Care Package
An individualised boutique package of Antenatal, labour and Postnatal care.
You will have an initial booking appointment with both Lisa and I. We will ask many questions about your health and well being, previous pregnancies, as well as reviewing any blood tests and scans you’ve had in the hospital. You will continue to access Midwife appointments at your chosen hospital where you are entitled to all necessary screening, ultrasound scans and blood tests. If you would prefer these to be done privately, we can arrange this for you at an additional cost.
During your pregnancy one of us will visit you every 4 weeks up until 28 weeks and 2 weekly thereafter until 36 weeks. After 36 weeks one of us will visit you weekly until the birth of your baby.
At each appointment we will assess Mother and baby well-being with blood pressure and urine checks. We will monitor your baby’s heart rate and measure your baby’s growth, using an individualised growth chart. If any concerns arise during the antenatal period, we will liaise with your NHS trust to access obstetric care. We will offer continuous emotional support and antenatal education as your pregnancy progresses.
During labour we will visit you at home and assess your progress. We will not always stay with you, but will be on-call to come back and join you when it is time to go into the hospital. If you have a long labour, Lisa and I may swap to give each other a break.

We will offer support for your partner, preparing them for how they can help during the birth and options they might like to consider such as cutting the cord or skin to skin with your new born baby.
To help get breastfeeding off to the best start, this package includes an antenatal visit, followed by one week of intensive breastfeeding support after birth.
I’ll visit you at home towards the end of your pregnancy for a one-to-one breastfeeding antenatal class. This helps prepare you for breastfeeding and understanding how your milk supply works. You can practice techniques of positioning and attaching your baby at the breast and I’ll discuss how to know your baby is getting enough milk. I can show you how to hand express the early colostrum ready for when your baby is born. This early education helps for a more relaxed experience in the early postnatal days.
Once your baby is born, I’ll visit you either in the hospital or at home. I’ll support and guide you through your early breastfeeding journey. I can talk to you about expressing and storing milk as well as give you dietary advice. I will help you to problem solve making for a more enjoyable breastfeeding experience.
